Welcome to Second Season Farm.
Second Season Farm began late 2016, just east of the “hole in the wall” on Highway 2 in Newcastle. It is operated by Michael Longarini, who resides at the farm with his young family. We hire local labour and aim to create a thriving local business.
Our farm pursues perennial-based agriculture and optimizing what’s possible on small farms that embrace scale appropriate technology. During the summer and fall, we produce annual vegetables and some perennial crops, and aspire to push the season further.
We grow everything on our farm following organic practices as a minimum standard. Our woodlot and orchard crops are integral to the health of our farm, and are incorporated into our annual vegetable production.
